This painting is one of two discovered by the same unknown artist. The other has an undecipherable female name inscribed on the stretcher along with Goshen, Kentucky. Both were found in the region. The stretcher has never been cut and fitted for keys consequently the canvas is secure, but not quite tight on the stretcher as before shrinkage. Some wave to canvas and protrusion on the front is visible at the stretcher bar. Keying the stretcher would not eliminate, but improve this issue should it be too disturbing to a prospective buyer. Fair condition. Cleaned with in-paint to the viewers right in the upper field. See additional image prior to restoration.
