This meticulously crafted paddle-wheeler found in St. Louis was probably inspired by Mississippi or Ohio River boats of the period. Likely dates circa 1900 or perhaps earlier so built in a working period not a nostalgic model. In good as found attic condition with no later overpaint. There are scattered breaks and losses none of which of significant consequence nor are there many. Each element was pilot drilled before nailing so no splitting of wood on the many delicate appointments. The penthouse cabins and pilot house above with a perforated metal cornice. The steam stacks to the rear are metal tubes cut and flared at the top. The rest of vessel is wood. Dust and cobwebs are mostly left undisturbed.
