Unsigned oil on a soft conifer panel (14 3/4” x 20”) housed in the original frame (20 3/4” x 26”).  Odd composition for the time period.  This painting likely Southern Indiana or Kentucky origin circa 1875 .  The painting though dirty is without loss.  Frame too with dirty buildup is loose at the connections with nails added and some scuffing though without loss or later surface.  All holes and existing nails align on reverse of frame confirming that the frame’s initial use was for this painting.
